My first experience in caregiving was when I was a teenager. My dad had a massive stroke, which left him with very limited ability to care for himself. It was difficult on everyone, and that experience shaped me into who I am today. I had to grow up fast while learning to slow down to help my dad as he rehabbed. My dad never regained 100% of his ability to do things on his own; however, he got to remain independent because he had determination and his family helping with caregiving for activities of daily living he wasn’t able to do on his own. I do understand firsthand how a good caregiver can make a difference.

The things I am most passionate about are my business, ensuring our clients are satisfied with our services, yoga, and shoes (I never have enough space in my bedroom-sized closet). When I am not shoe shopping or working on my business, I am brunching with family and friends.

My path into elder care opened up when I realized that this field thrives on passion and empathy, which are fundamental to who I am. In striving to live a life true to myself, I’ve found a true sense of belonging here. Beyond work, you’ll often find me dressed up to meet friends for coffee or in active wear heading to the gym or a studio. I’m a firm believer that we owe it to everyone in our lives, including ourselves, to live in the now and share as much love as we can.

My career as a Registered Nurse has evolved to encompass both clinical care and healthcare business development, giving me a well-rounded perspective on what it truly takes to establish safe, effective care at home. I work closely with clients, families, and caregivers to develop personalized care plans that promote independence, dignity, and peace of mind while guiding families through every step of the process.

My passion for elder care is both professional and personal. Having cared for my own aging family members, I understand the emotions that come with making care decisions for loved ones. I bring that same compassion and dedication to advocating for every client’s safety and well-being, ensuring that every client receives the right support at the right time. Outside of work, you’ll find me with my family, including our Sheepadoodle, Buddy, hitting the gym, walking the beach, or off on our next travel adventure.

Felicia, HR Generalist

I work in elder care because I want to enrich the lives of our aging community! I enjoy going to the beach and grabbing food with friends on my free time. I love sweet treats and even more so making them for my friends.

I chose to work in home care because I want to be of service to other people as much as possible. My favorite quote would be from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Little Prince, “And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” I’m known to be someone a lot of people can become comfortable with in a short period of time; at one point I would be invisible to you, and then the next minute you would have already shared your life story with me! When I am not working, I am either enjoying a good book or going on a road trip (I love doing long drives!) with my girlfriend.

While I come from a family of nurses and have personal caregiving experience, I’m passionate about elder care because it allows me to make a meaningful difference daily. Outside of work, you can often find me expressing my creativity through dance, diving into virtual worlds through gaming, staying active at the gym, or getting lost in the pages of a good book. On the home front, I’m happily outnumbered by my two lovely cats!

Though I’m new to elder care, it warmed my heart to know I made someone’s day by making them feel supported and cared for. This role allows me to learn constantly and connect with others in a truly meaningful way. When I’m off the clock, you’ll find me with family, catching up with friends, or enjoying some well-earned quiet time. I have a fish at home, and watching him is the perfect way to relax after a long day.

I work in elder care because I am committed to providing support and comfort to those who need it most, and I believe every connection is an opportunity to bring a little kindness into someone’s life. In my free time, I enjoy discovering new films, exploring random hobbies, and going on spontaneous shopping trips, often for things I didn’t plan to buy but couldn’t resist.

I work in elder care because my grandmothers inspired me—we’ve always shared a close, almost best-friend kind of bond. Their influence motivates me to provide compassionate, respectful, and meaningful care to other seniors. When I’m off the clock, I like to unwind by solving games, spending time with my cats, or playing online games with my friends.

I’ve always wanted a job that truly makes a difference in the world—something more than just a paycheck. Not all work is about improving lives, but elder care is. I find real joy in being there for others, offering support, kindness, and dignity to those who need it most. It gives me a sense of purpose that few other roles could. In my day-to-day life, what I enjoy most is spending time with my little girl or catching up over coffee with friends. That personal connection—whether with loved ones or the people I care for—is what really drives me.

Sharmay, Bookkeeper

As a first-time mom, I balance managing financial records and payroll processing with spending quality time with my husband and son, and catching up on sleep whenever I can. My journey into elder care began when I helped CareWorks transition to online bookkeeping, and as the company grew, I took on additional duties. My keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy are essential in supporting the company’s financial health.
